This new Android tablet will supercharge Digital Transformation

Shopping for a capable, affordable tablet when you’re a consumer is hard enough, but when you’re a business, that challenge gets cranked up to 11.

Frequently, we see teams in a sticky situation when choosing a dedicated device for their fleet: Either accept a poor user experience on extremely inexpensive, generic Android reference hardware, or pay a large premium for consumer-grade devices that aren’t right-sized for these specialized use cases.

That’s why Esper is so proud to partner with Lenovo on the K10, because we know it’s intelligently positioned to give our customers all the power of a modern tablet (including accessories like active stylus and keyboard), but to do so in a way that is thoughtfully tailored to the needs of businesses and fleets.

Agile hardware makes an agile fleet

The K10 exemplifies the unique agility Android and ARM deliver to customers. An incredible amount of computing power can be harnessed at a very accessible price point, placed almost anywhere on Earth, and managed and maintained through a fully remote workflow (that’s where we come in).

With a 64-bit octa-core CPU, 10″ full HD display, expandable microSD storage, Bluetooth 5.0, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, dual Dolby Audio speakers, and high-resolution front and rear cameras (with flash), the K10 is an ideal platform for a massive spectrum of dedicated device use cases. It’s ruggedized for demanding environments, too, making it a more reliable investment than the off-the-shelf Android tablet hardware you’d find on the generic resale market.

Specs, of course, don’t tell a full product story. The K10 ships with Android 11, and it will be fully upgradeable to Android 12. Further, Lenovo is offering three years of software support and security patches for the K10, and Esper will ensure our customers get each and every update. This is why we think of the K10 as the first truly agile Android hardware platform for businesses — because your organization can rely on it from end to end to enable your vision now, but also years into the future. That’s an assurance no MDM is going to give you.

Premium, not precious

One of the real perception issues we think the K10 tackles head on is that of Android hardware being an “also ran” in terms of product experience. We’ve all used an iPad; we know what it feels like, and we know why customers connect with that experience. But with products like the K10, we’re seeing a new class of devices that meet the demanding expectations of customers without the immense cost or constraints of other platforms.

The K10 can be configured with additional storage, RAM, 4G (in select markets), and a battery-less configuration for stationary, powered use cases will be available soon. Importantly, none of these variations will fragment your fleet, either, as all versions of the K10 are based on the same MediaTek Helio P22T SoC (System-on-a-Chip).

Displaying rich media, using advanced application features like face detection, converting speech to text, OCR (Optical Character Recognition), and support for external hardware like USB audio are becoming exceedingly common use cases, and the K10 is ready to tackle all of them.

Hardware is the first big step, let us help you take the next one

The Lenovo K10 is a shining example of the kind of hardware and use cases Esper is so uniquely suited to help organizations deploy and manage. As the ARM tablet and fanless computing ecosystems mature in cost-effectiveness and capability, we’ve hit an inflection point: Every business can afford a digital transformation plan, no matter how big, small, simple, or complex. The real ask is whether your business has the confidence in its tools and infrastructure to take that leap.

With Esper, you can put that confidence in us. We’ve built a platform and tools from the ground up to manage Android fleets at any scale and of any makeup — GMS (Google Mobile Services, aka “Google Android”), AOSP (like Esper Enhanced Android), or those that haven’t explored an Android-based solution in the first place.

We think the K10 is a perfect showcase for what you can achieve with Esper: truly seamless provisioning, fully remote application updates, proper security patch support, and the tools you need to deploy and manage those devices from anywhere in the world. That’s real agility, and it’s well within your grasp. We’re proud of what we’ve built, and the K10 is a perfect partner for Esper’s unmatched Android know-how.

And if you think Android can’t do for your business what Windows, iOS, or Linux can, think again. Check out this post for some of the big myths we debunk on using Android for fleets. You can also set up a demo and try out Esper for free today right here.
